Customer's Need

CURIUM and SUEZ R&R IWS CHEMICALS FRANCE won the 2016 tender for the "Service provision for the reconditioning and disposal of napalm waste owned by the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Albania".

CURIUM has been selected for the operation. The objectives of the services were the packaging, storage and disposal/recycling of the products used for napalm production - components coming from aluminium and xylenol.

The storage contained 112 tons of aluminium and 28 tons of xylenol. They were located at 5 sites on the territory of Albania.

CURIUM has defined the operations and safety rules taking into account the products and the location. The waste was then transported by SUEZ R&R IWS CHEMICALS France, in compliance with the regulations on the cross-border movement of hazardous products, and was deposited at one of their treatment sites.
