CURIUM was contacted to provide its expertise after 1350 tons of soil contaminated by natural radionuclides have been discovered on on an industrial site during its remediation.

CURIUM's mission consisted in assessing the radiological study that had been carried out, to carry out quantitative evaluation of radiological exposure in order to define the possibility and modalities of conservation of the contaminated soil on site, with regard to its future use. CURIUM defined the optimal management solutions from a technical and financial point of view, in compliance with the regulatory framework, and assisted the project owner in the implementation of the management options.
