The site, with a total area of 20 000m², bordering the Durance river, presented an immediate risk of pollution of the environment. The main volume of waste spread on site consisted of powders, granules and ingots of magnesium, calcium, lithium, aluminum and nickel (high risk of ignition in contact with water or moisture).
CURIUM carried out the preliminary safety checks and developed site safety plans; carried out the preparation and installation of the site, the setup of collective and individual protection equipment, and secured the site. CURIUM has also been involved in the identification, sorting and repackaging of solid water-reactive waste.
